Claudia Losi arrived at Dynamo Camp with a mountain of vintage animal encyclopedias and a basket full of fabrics. The children immersed themselves in her world and in the spirit of her projects, where nature takes center stage. Using the collage technique, each of them brought to life a fantastic creature; then, by combining elements shared within the group, new animal species were born — each with its own name. Lions with horns, zebra bodies and deer antlers, turtles with wings and fish fins, and many other bizarre creatures. With the help of a group of seamstresses, the children shaped their collages into fabric pieces representing the parts of these animals. The assembled pieces then became soft, colorful sculptures.
