In 2005 the whale traveled to Ecuador to be exhibited in two very different places: in Guayaquil, on the coast, and in Quito, the capital city in the Andes. But the purpose of the project also lies in its ability to create participatory situations: a series of contacts with indigenous communities were initiated with the help of several people in Italy and Ecuador. In several stages, almost 1,000 crocheted wool whales were made by some 30 women.
