Ossi is a kind of hut, a beginning of shelter built of three ‘ribs’ made of clay, white but still rosy after cooking. They stand by their weight on crude iron supports. They could be ribs of a sea creature, a medium-sized cetacean. There is a close relationship, not only metaphorical, between the clay and the elements of the living being. These forms grew from the void, shaped with extreme skill by the potter and then personally retouched, finally propped up by hand so as not to break the structure. A metaphor of vulnerable shelter, hard to build, but where the imagination can find protection and safety.
